FBI Whistleblower Says CIA Commissioned New Islamic Militant Cells to Orchestrate Terror Attacks

Former FBI employee turned whistleblower Sibel Edmonds exposes firsthand accounts of government corruption she discovered while working with classified material, and discusses alleged terror plots ordered by the U.S. government and its allies.

Edmonds explained that while working at the FBI primarily as a translation specialist, she was assigned to two departments – counterterrorism and counterintelligence - the latter of which included analyst duties as well. The classified files she worked with covered the time period from 1996 to 2001.

She revealed one thing she realized by working in her FBI role was that the agency had no problem spying on all diplomatic members of the international community through its counterintelligence unit except for Belgium – where NATO is headquartered – and the United Kingdom. The intelligence secretly gathered from diplomatic corps became important in the operations various branches of the U.S. government got involved in following the fall of Soviet communism.

Edmonds details the shocking classified information she uncovered that triggered her whistleblowing activities. “The most explosive part of it had to do with the fact that the target entities were involved in operations in various parts of the world – in regions such as central Asia, the Caucasus and the Middle East - putting together cells, training them, funding and causing various terror events.”

She said many terrorist attacks Americans were reading about can be traced back to secret cells initiated by the CIA. “So these people actually were involved in – not only funding, but putting together some extremist cells. Let’s say in Georgia, or extremist cells, let’s say in Azerbaizan,” she said. “And then channeling the money through various ways, to these entities, and bringing people, to train them militaristically, arming them, directing them, and giving them terror-related operations to be executed, let’s say in Russia, and then blamed on some Chechen faction, or in Turkey, or in several other nations.”

Those foreign entities, according to Edmonds, were not executing the terror operations by themselves. “They were working under NATO, and very high-level U.S. Pentagon and CIA people, under their directive.”

She said the terror attack plans were written as a scenario, then planned and carried out by the CIA, in association with the Pentagon, Britain’s MI6 intelligence service and NATO. The operation would allegedly involve recruiting individuals who were brought together and trained to form extremist cells that didn’t even exist before.

Edmonds also speaks about her belief that the 9/11 attacks were orchestrated by the government to insure that the United States could remain a superpower in an ever-changing political and economic world.

“They needed this event - and this is Operation Gladio’s 3rd tier operators in the United States – they needed it, without that the U.S. was not going to be the superpower. And we know that the Deep State has always wanted to maintain the United States a superpower.”

Operation Gladio was a codename for NATO’s clandestine “stay-behind” operation in Europe during the Cold War that was intended to continue armed resistance in the event of a future Soviet invasion. Edmonds said Operation Gladio had to gain a new mission once the threat from the Soviet Union was gone.

“The story of how this happened, who really did this, keeps evolving and changing,” she added about continuing speculation about the September 11 attacks. “And that is true with any of these so-called terror attacks, including the Boston bomb attack.”

Edmonds touches on these themes in her latest novel, The Lone Gladio.
