Was Anton Yelchin’s Death Caused By Recalled Gear Shift?

The SUV which hit Anton Yelchin leading to his death by Blunt Traumatic Asphyxia had been recalled because of previous incidents involving faulty gear shifters. In total, 1.1 million vehicles have been cited in a global recall. Fiat/Chrysler sent letters to owners notifying them of the recall on May 16th. More investigation must be done in the death of Yelchin to say whether the faulty gear shifter was truly at fault, but 212 crashes have been cited and 41 injuries by the faulty gear shifter.
