Bernie Sanders, the Vermont senator and independent socialist who is challenging Hillary Clinton for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, is planning to beat Clinton without using any attack ads, according to Devine Mulvey Longabaugh, the political consulting firm that Sanders has retained to advise his campaign. The outfit claims that negative advertising is not part of Sanders’ campaign strategy, but that implicit negative messages aimed at Clinton will be “embedded” in his advertising and social media messaging.
