California’s Right-To-Die Bill Hits Religious Roadblock

A right-to-die bill that would allow terminally-ill patients to legally end their lives in California has been stalled after being met with opposition by religious groups who say permitting doctors to prescribe life-ending drugs is assisted suicide and goes against God’s will. The right-to-die movement was put in the national spotlight recently when 29-year-old Brittany Maynard moved from California to Oregon to legally end her life in November following a diagnosis of terminal brain cancer.
