CIA researchers have been working for years to break the security of Apple devices, presumably to plant code, discover potential vulnerabilities and ultimately access Apple users’ data, according to top-secret documents provided by Edward Snowden to The Intercept. The findings were then presented at a top-secret conference by Sandia Labs, an organization co-funded by the US Government and Lockheed Martin — even as US agencies and the Obama Administration criticize foreign governments for similar initiatives.
