Texas Senator and former Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz ripped Senate Democrats on Thursday over their 15-hour filibuster calling for tighter gun control measures. Cruz said the effort to reduce gun-related deaths in the US is “a political distraction” and “political gamesmanship,” speaking on the Senate floor. This is the same man who read Dr. Seuss’ children’s book Green Eggs and Ham during a filibuster he carried out against President Obama’s Affordable Care Act back in 2013.
