ISIS has started using women in combat roles for the first time. At least seven female fighters were arrested and three others have been killed in the past week in Libya. One of the fighters was a suicide bomber. Until now, women jihadists in Syria and Iraq were believed to only hold non-combat roles. Why is ISIS sending female fighters to their deaths despite the Quran forbidding jihadi women to engage in warfare?
