Genetically Engineered Mutant Mosquitoes Released in Brazil to Fight Zika

Millions of genetically modified mosquitoes will be released in Brazil over the next few month to stop the spread of Zika and Dengue. Oxitec, the company behind the program, is opening a new mosquito-making factory in the Brazilian town of Piracicaba to combat the outbreak. This comes in the wake of reports linking a recent surge in the birth defect microcephaly in Brazil to the spread of the Zika virus. Can mutant mosquitoes control the outbreak?
