Hoverboards pose an “imminent hazard” and anyone caught selling uncertified hoverboards will face civil and criminal penalties, according to the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC). The CPSC released a report to manufacturers, importers, and dealers of hoverboards calling for the removal of all hoverboards that do not meet safety standards. The CPSC received 52 reports of hoverboard fires resulting in more than $2 million in property damage. Currently the boards are subject to recall and seizure. Margaret J.
