A human trafficking bill meant to help victims of modern day slavery who are forced into labor or sex work has stalled over a provision that restricts federal funding for abortion and other health care services. The provision was inserted into the The Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act (JVTA) by Republicans leading Democrats to object. Will Congress remove the controversial piece, which is hindering progress on an important piece of legislation that would help thousands of vulnerable children ensnared in the commercial sex trade?
