Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called out the US on Sunday for oppressing its black population saying that its “Hollywood-style” policing practices and use of “cruel might” against minorities “will bring about insecurity, and not security”. The Iranian leader has accused the US of racism before and this time, his comments came just before US Secretary of State John Kerry met with Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif at the UN, on the sidelines of a conference concerning the nuclear non-proliferation treaty in which both men are participating.
