Ex-House Speaker John Boehner on Wednesday endorsed current House Speaker Paul Ryan for the Republican presidential nomination saying that in the case of a contested convention, he would support his successor. Ryan’s spokesman later rejected the idea of a Ryan nomination, saying the speaker wanted the nominee to be “someone who ran this year.” Could Ryan be the savior of the Republican Party?
