Mongolian Scientist Says Mummified Buddhist Monk Not Dead, Still in Meditative State After 200 Years

A 200-year-old Mongolian mummified Buddhist monk who was discovered sitting in the lotus position is not actually dead, but in a deep meditation called “tukdam.” This is according to Professor Ganhugiyn Purevbat, founder of The Mongolian Institute of Buddhist Art, regarding the ancient tradition of Buddhist lamas.
