Donald Trump has been accused of consumer fraud via Trump University by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. “We have a law against running an illegal, unlicensed university. This never was a university,” stated Schneiderman. Trump university launched in 2005 and offered courses in real estate and investment. Newly released documents revealed that salespeople were told to deliberately mislead potential customers, manipulate their emotions and ignore concerns if students wanted to leave. Though Trump has claimed that the university was a philanthropic venture, Trump pocketed roughly $5 million from the university.
