Kentucky clerk Kim Davis’s office issued a gay couple a marriage license this morning while a group of protesters stood outside of the courthouse condemning them. Deputy Clerk Brian Mason issued the couple, James Yates and William Smith, the license after Davis was held in contempt by a federal judge on Thursday for refusing to hand out marriage licenses despite a Supreme Court ruling against her.
