OkCupid has admitted to lying to its members as part of a social experiment by changing their profiles without their consent and matching them with users that they aren’t compatible with. The online dating site has defended its actions by saying that websites work by performing these kind of experiments and that by participating in the site you are inevitably subject to said experiments. Facebook was recently outed for conducting a similar type of psychological experiment on its members.
