Southern Oregon’s Sugar Pine Mine is in a dispute with the Federal Bureau of Land Management over who has the right to the minerals in the ground of one of the oldest mining claims in the country. The miners say that the Feds, who ordered them off the land by April 25th, are overstepping their control and have called on armed militia group the Oath Keepers to help protect their constitutional rights in a situation that is being compared to the 2014 standoff at Cliven Bundy’s Nevada ranch. We look at the story on the Lip News with John Fenoglio and Jo Ankier.
