Efrain Antonio Campo Flores and Francisco Flores de Freitas, nephews of Venezuela’s First Lady Cilia Flores, were arrested and extradited to the US on drug trafficking charges. The men were arrested in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and accused of conspiring to ship 800 kilograms of cocaine to the United States after revealing their plan to a DEA informant. The arrest has shaken the already tense relations between Venezuela and the US and comes one month before Venezuelan elections.
