Bernie Sanders was backed by Cornel West via a series of Twitter messages on Monday night where the the influential scholar and civil rights activist wrote that the Vermont senator and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate has been an ally in the fight for justice over the years and that his voice needs to be heard.
