Porn has been officially declared a public health hazard in Utah after Governor Gary Herbert signed a resolution on Tuesday stating that porn “perpetuates a sexually toxic environment [and] is contributing to the hypersexualization of teens.” The resolution calls for research, education and policy changes to stop pornography exposure and addiction and “to address the pornography epidemic that is harming the citizens of Utah and the nation.” Is Utah being dramatic, or is porn really a public health concern?
