Virginia sheriff D.T. (Duck) Adams defended his use of a racial slur twice while interrogating murder suspect, Michael Edward Elmore, in 2013 saying he did so because the suspect, who was later convicted of murder, did so first. Adams claimed that, “Any police officer knows that when you’re in an interrogation, you have to use their words in order to get on their level,” We look at video of the interrogation on the Lip News with Jo Ankier and Margaret Howell.
