Zetas drug cartel boss Jose Márquez Balderas, reporter Juan Santos Carrera and four other people were killed early on Thursday by five gunmen who burst into a bar in Mexico’s Gulf coast state of Veracruz, according to authorities. 14 journalists have been killed in Veracruz state since Governor Javier Duarte took office in 2010 and three more have gone missing.
