Martin Luther King Assassination Conspiracy – Human Rights Attorney Dr. William Pepper
Episode 17 : Media Mayhem
Episode Synopsis
We are very intrigued to speak with Dr. William Pepper on the week of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s 83rd birthday. Dr. Pepper has taken an unlikely route to help continue to blaze the trail of social justice that Dr. King championed: by defending the man convicted of murdering Dr. King. He speaks to us today in the wake of the release of his book detailing the assassination, “An Act of State.”
In addition to his historic work for the convicted political assassins of the 1960′s, Dr. Pepper also illuminates his outlook on the current political landscape and Occupy movement.
The beginning of this episode is plagued with audio problems, but the issues are sorted out within the first 16 minutes. Enjoy!
Guest Bio
Dr. William Pepper, our guest today, comes to us as an esteemed attorney and poet. A friend of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Dr. Pepper has spent many years examining the curious circumstances of his assassination and even acted as counsel for James Earl Ray, the man convicted of the murder.
Dr. Pepper also went from being a friend and associate of Robert Kennedy, to representing his convicted assassin, Sirhan Sirhan. His unusual client roster has underlined his mission to uncover the government conspiracies that he blames for oppressing the people of the United States and the world beyond. In addition to his United States practice he is a non-practicing barrister in the United Kingdom and has convened the International Human Rights Seminar at Oxford.
