AMERICAN PSYCHO THE MUSICAL is based on the novel of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis centering on the life of Wall Street banker Patrick Bateman, as he loses his grip on reality during the 1980’s. Producer J. Todd Harris shares a trailer for the Broadway production and discusses the transition from the page to the stage. Harris also shares the trailer for the independent film SO B. IT, a film about a gifted young girl named Heidi who lives with her mentally disabled mother, who travels across the country to find out about her past. Harris shares insight into the process of adaptation, Broadway vs Hollywood and the future of film and television distribution in this episode of Media Mayhem hosted by Allison Hope Weiner.

Guest Bio
Originally from New York City, J. Todd Harris earned his BA and MBA from Stanford. Between undergraduate and business school, he served as Managing Director of the award-winning Palo Alto-based repertory company TheatreWorks. Mr. Harris has produced 37 films, including five Sundance Film Festival entries, two films that have appeared in the Toronto Film Festival, one that debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival and another that garnered a Special Mention for the Camera D’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. His most recent productions include Bottle Shock starring Alan Rickman and Chris Pine, The Kids Are Alright starring Julianne Moore, Annette Bening and Mark Ruffalo, and Piranha 3D from The Weinstein Company.
