There she co-founded Asheville Beyond Coal, a movement that succeeded in retiring Duke Energy’s Asheville Coal plant and garnered national praise. Known for an innovative approach that highlights the voices of religious leaders, artists, musicians, local businesses, and other cultural influencers, Anna Jane has been profiled by Rolling Stone, Glamour, and MTV. Her work to engage evangelicals was featured in Years of Living Dangerously, Showtime’s Emmy-award winning documentary series on the climate crisis. Anna Jane graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Communication and Rhetoric and a minor in Environmental Studies.
