Renisha McBride Verdict, Jodi Arias and Oscar Pistorius Back in Court

Renisha McBride was shot to death by Theodore Wafer, and he has been convicted of second-degree murder for killing her after she knocked on his door in the middle of the night. Oscar Pistorius is back in court with the closing arguments being delivered by the prosecution, and we look at video of the proceedings. We also discuss Jodi Arias’ decision to represent herself in appeals, and break down the cases with Loni Coombs and Jim Clemente on Crime Time.

Guest Bio

Loni Coombs attended Brigham Young University, graduating at the age of nineteen with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and minors in philosophy and music. In 1988, after graduating from Pepperdine Law School, Loni began her legal career as a criminal trial prosecutor for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Her numerous felony trials ranged from murders to sex crimes and DUIs. From 2003 to 2005, Loni headed up the District Attorney’s Hate Crimes Unit, monitoring discrimination cases throughout the county and training law enforcement agencies.

 

Jim Clemente is a retired FBI agent and current advisor, writer and producer for the TV series “Criminal Minds.” A graduate of Fordham University School of Law, Jim was the head of the Child Sex Crimes Prosecution Team in Bronx County for the New York City Law Department. As a result of undercover work that led to the imprisonment of a child sex offender, Clemente was recruited into the FBI. From 1998 until October 2009 he was a Supervisory Special Agent in the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit in Quantico, Virginia. He is an expert in the fields of Sex Crimes Investigations, Sex Offender Behavior, Child Sexual Victimization, and Child Pornography. Clemente has investigated and consulted on thousands of cases involving the violent and sexual crimes, sexual victimization of children, and he has interviewed hundreds of victims and offenders. He has also testified as an expert witness and lectured on these topics across the country and around the world.
