Author and former cancer researcher Judyth Vary Baker claims she had a romantic relationship with Lee Harvey Oswald – the lone man officially blamed for the assassination of John F. Kennedy – and she tells about a biological weapons project she said the two worked together on that was supposed to result in the killing of Cuban leader Fidel Castro.
Baker says she was prompted to come forward and reveal what she knew about Lee Harvey Oswald and the JFK assassination after seeing the film JFK. But she waited until 1999 to see the film, and thereafter revealed details in her 2011 book Me & Lee: How I Came to Know, Love and Lose Lee Harvey Oswald.
“This was aimed at trying to assassinate Castro,” said Baker about the alleged biological weapons development project based in New Orleans. She says the CIA decided to attempt this method to kill the Cuban leader because other ways had failed. “I just learned to hate Castro, so it was easy to recruit me into such a program, although I didn’t realize I’d been sent to New Orleans for that reason,” she said.
“We have newspaper articles verifying that I had been trained to make cancer more deadly. I was one of these young assets that could be untraceable,” added Baker, who said she was promised a spot in Tulane’s medical school in return for her cancer research work.
Watch the full episode to hear Baker also explain how many people surrounding the JFK assassination were “eliminated” by the government and how she managed to take steps to survive.
