Lumbersexual Men Trend Embraced By Actress Alison Pill

The Newsroom star Alison Pill talks about working on the HBO journalism drama, and also reveals her taste in men, which apparently includes a new category known as “lumbersexual,” which she explains.

“When I heard the word lumbersexual – I think to everyone who is in our mutual acquaintances, this is a new term,” Alison said, explaining that it basically describes a variant of a metrosexual, and she’s dating one.

“Now there’s lumbersexual, which I believe is like a straight bear,” she explains - referring to the masculine type of gay man who typically is stocky and furry - but also with a bit of a hipster vibe. She adds that she definitely considers her current boyfriend a lovable combo best described as a “lumbersexual bear.”

Alison also speaks about playing Maggie Jordan on The Newsroomwhich recently aired its series finale episode – saying the conclusion of the show was bittersweet.

“Did I cry when I wrapped, no it was sort of this funny weird thing – it was so unbelievable that we would be done, that I don’t think it really struck anybody,” she said. “It still hasn’t fully set in that I won’t be going back this spring to see everybody and to go back to the bullpen.”
