The issue of whether minors should be tried as adults has come up again in the Massachusetts case of 16-year-old Philip Chism, who is charged with raping and killing a 24-year-old math teacher. A judge recently ruled that the boy’s confession to police that he murdered the teacher cannot be used in his trial.
