Ready or not, Americans might be in for another Bush-Clinton political faceoff for the White House in 2016. It’s considered a foregone conclusion that Hillary Clinton will run for president and recently Florida Governor Jeb Bush has indicated he’s considering running for the job as well - leading to Bush Vs Clinton II.
The last head-to-head presidential race between the two families was the 1992 election between George H.W. Bush and the winner of the contest, Bill Clinton.
The campaign process has of course changed during the past 22 years, with loads more money necessary to be competitive, and attack ads flooding the airwaves for months leading up to the election.
And while a Hillary-Jeb race would undoubtedly result in personal attacks hurled back and forth between the candidates, what many people may not know is that the two politically opposite families have a remarkably warm relationship.
Former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton have become friends over the years, with Clinton even describing Bush as his “brother from another mother.”
During an interview with CNN’s Candy Crowley, Bush then explains what that makes Hillary. “My sister-in-law,” he responded.
But when Bush was asked about his brother Jeb running against his “sister-in-law,” the 43rd president said confidently, “Yeah, and I think he’d beat her.”
