Donald Trump Injects Gun Debate Into Paris Killings, Plus Suspicious Attack Circumstances Explored

One of the more unique reactions to this week’s deadly terrorist attack against the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo was by billionaire Donald Trump – who used the horrific event to highlight his views on guns.

“If the people so violently shot down in Paris had guns, at least they would have had a fighting chance,” said the real estate tycoon and television personality on Twitter about the attack.

“Isn’t it interesting that the tragedy in Paris took place in one of the toughest gun control countries in the world?” he also said about the attack in the heart of Paris that killed 12 people.

He then also recited one of the most overused slogans by conservatives in the gun debate: “Remember, when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns!”

The United States has 90 guns for every 100 citizens, making it the most heavily armed society in the world, a report released on Tuesday said. The discussion tackles whether its appropriate to bring up the U.S. gun debate in relation to public shootings in the United States and around the world.

The conversation also takes up some of the peculiar circumstances surrounding the events of the Paris attack that are already fueling some conspiracy theories about the events, which is universally being called a terrorist attack.
