Most of us probably think of neo-Nazi skinheads as the main group across Europe that continues to glorify Adolf Hitler and regurgitate his hateful, racist beliefs.
But those same ideas are now being plastered all over a Russian social media site as part of a beauty pageant being referred to as Miss Hitler 2014.
Women from various eastern European nations are competing for the title – officially named Miss Ostland, after the territory in Eastern Europe that was under Nazi control when Hitler orchestrated the extermination of about six million Jews.
There’s already been a flurry of contest submissions on Russia’s biggest social network, VK, through the site’s Adolf Hitler group page, and the candidate receiving the most ‘likes’ will become the winner. People have also uploaded hate-speech and Hitler-related memes, among them cookies with swastika-painted frosting, jokes about gas chambers and memes with pro-Hitler babies.
Contestants are asked to post sexy photos and share their ideas on why they “love and revere the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler.” Some of the postings included the following:
Katya, from Belarus “adores” Hitler because he was willing to “experiment on people.”
Ukrainian contestant Irina proclaimed: “Don’t forget! Adolf is his name, he’s our eternal race, he has been given eternal life.”
Ekaterina from Russia: “Adolf Hitler’s position is genius and true, that races are different not only in appearance, but also in intelligence.”
The first place winner supposedly will receive jewelry made with stones beloved by Heinrich Himmler, head of the Nazi regime’s dreaded SS service.
