The Supreme Court has delayed three upcoming executions in Oklahoma in order to consider the issue of lethal injections in the state. This decision was in response to a petition filed by the three inmates set for execution. The justices are going to consider whether the use of the sedative midazolam in lethal injections in Oklahoma violates the constitutional ban on cruel and unusual punishment.
