The Supreme Court on Monday struck down a Texas abortion access law that would have closed all but nine abortion clinics in the state. The 5-3 ruling, which is the court’s most significant decision on abortion in 25 years, found that the law’s restrictions burden women who seek abortions without serving any medical purpose. Abortion rights advocates hope the ruling will deter other states from passing similar laws.
