Episode Synopsis

In the pilot episode of The Intentional Parent, Greg Matuskiewicz and Dr. Tina Bryson introduce themselves and their backgrounds and share their thoughts on what it means to be an intentional parent. Tina discusses her recently published book The Whole Brain Child while sharing a glimpse into some of the 12 strategies that she and co-author Dan Siegel map out in the book. The hosts share thoughts on some recent videos circulating online and also review some of their favorite educational tools and applications.

Guest Bio

Dr. Tina Payne Bryson is a lecturer, a parenting consultant, and a therapist at Pediatric & Adolescent Psychology Associates. She speaks to groups all across the country and writes for numerous venues, most recently the PBS series “This Emotional Life.” Her book, co-authored with Dr. Dan Siegel, is called The Whole-Brain Child: 12 Revolutionary Strategies to Nurture Your Child’s Developing Mind. She’s a mom to three school-aged boys.

Greg Matuskiewicz is a former Microsoft executive and father of one five year old boy. He is known as an activist parent and 21st century dad, involving himself in all aspects of his child’s upbringing. Greg enjoys surfing and spending time with his wife, Peggi, and son Lincoln.
