The CIA has acknowledged that it “mistakenly” destroyed their only copy of the Senate’s torture report at the same time lawyers for the Justice Department had promised a federal judge that copies of the document were being preserved. The CIA inspector generals office, the agency’s internal watchdog, was handling the 6,700-page report which included video footage, CIA cables and memos on the agencies use of waterboarding, sleep deprivation and other interrogation methods. According to the CIA another copy of the report still exists somewhere in their agency. Margaret J. Howell and Jo Ankier take a closer look at the disappearance of the CIA torture report on the Lip News.
